Our Mission
Changing Lives
One Youth
at a Time.
We work with students, parents and schools so that effort in the classroom is seen, celebrated and rewarded.
A+ Plus Detroit was founded to serve Detroit youth by connecting sneakers and culture with education, mentorship and opportunity.
Good grades earn shoes, school uniforms and supplies. Families and teachers sit down together once a month. The better a student does, the more we can do for them.
From the Founder
“We are all in on the lives of these children. That’s why it works.”
We help them along in every aspect, working with the school and with their parents.

What We Stand On
Education
Rewarding effort in the classroom.
Mentorship
Adults who show up and stay.
Opportunity
Real chances to earn and grow.
Community
A stronger Detroit, built together.
What We Do
- 01
Report Card Rewards
Grades earn shoes. Straight A’s earn a free pair.
- 02
Uniforms & School Supplies
Students can put their grades toward school uniforms and supplies, too.
- 03
Family Socials
Once a month we bring families and teachers together to build a stronger relationship with the school.
- 04
Sell & Trade
Students and adults can sell or trade sneakers for credit toward new pairs.
Family Socials
Families, teachers and students, together.
Once a month we bring families and teachers together for a social. A stronger relationship with the school makes everything else work better.
More Than Sneakers
Sneakers are the hook.
Young people are the purpose.
Every pair we sell, buy or trade keeps the programs running. The report card program ties the two together: do the work in school, and it counts here. Straight A’s earn a free pair.
